Men's head coach Wayne Creek has announced that the 2022 season will be his final with the Northern Star Resources Goldfields Giants after four seasons in the role.
In his second stint at the club as coach, Creek returned to the role he previously held over the 2010-2011 seasons before having to leave the region for personal reasons midway through the 2011 campaign.
Upon returning to the region in late 2016, he rejoined the club firstly as an assistant coach to the SBL team and head coach of the WABL Men's team.
He was then appointed head coach of the men's program in 2019 and is due to finish his fourth year of that stint.
Creek, who has nearly 500 games for the Giants under his belt as a player, assistant coach and head home since starting his career back in 1991, was part of the clubs' inaugural championship in 2007 and was named to the Giants All-Time team in 2009.
All together, he is the club's longest serving head coach - coaching six seasons with the club over both his stints.
With the team having officially qualified for the finals in the NBL1 West 2022 season, he is hoping to add a few more games to his club legacy before departing for Perth at the seasons end.
