We hope everyone is safe and well during these challenging times.

Firstly, we wanted to thank all our loyal Members, Supporters, Corporate and Community Partners for your continued support through what has been a challenging few months for the teams here. There has been no disputing the challenges these lockdowns have had on the association but despite these challenges, we will all continue to band together and come out the other side stronger, our resilience will continue to outshine the hardships.

After continuous work behind the scenes by Basketball Victoria, this afternoon following the State Government announcements, we have since received the news that the 2021 Coles Express NBL1 South Season has now been cancelled. Basketball Victoria looked at every option available to finish the season within reason but given the current and ongoing restrictions the difficult decision was made to end the season.

This is no doubt, disappointing on all fronts. Our focus right now is to continue checking in on the welfare of our players, coaches, volunteers and staff while we remain closed during the current lockdowns.

While the teams have given it their all throughout the season, we must thank them for their continued commitment, efforts and passion throughout what has been the most challenging season to date. We wanted to also acknowledge all our wonderful staff and volunteers, who despite the ongoing changes throughout the past year have remained positive and supportive.

From what is a sad outcome for us all right now, we see as a massive opportunity to build upon our resilience over 2021 and take our programs into 2022 stronger than ever.

Please be safe, look out for those closest to you and be sure to reach out for support during this time.

We hope to see you all back in the stands soon cheering on the Miners Rush!

Take care,
