The Albury Wodonga Bandits dominated the Sydney Flames 99-66 on Saturday night at Comets Stadium, showing complete control from the opening tip.
The Bandits' attack was led by basketball legend Lauren Jackson, who posted a dominant double-double with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Jackson was a force inside, shooting 53 percent from the field and grabbing 12 defensive boards. Ashlee Hannan also notched a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Mikayla Pivec added 15 points and nine assists. The home side was relentless on the glass, outrebounding Sydney 63-41, and their ball movement was exceptional with 24 assists compared to just seven for the visitors.
Despite the lopsided result, Davida Dale tried to keep Sydney competitive with a game-high 31 points while adding nine rebounds and nine steals. Piper Anderson added 23 points including five triples, but the Flames struggled all night from the field, shooting just 30 percent compared to Albury's 47 percent. Sydney's offensive woes were compounded by 21 turnovers and a lack of ball movement.
