The Central Coast Crusaders defeated the Hornsby KuRingGai Spiders 93-81 on Saturday at Breakers Indoor Sports Stadium.
Central Coast pulled away thanks to a balanced attack led by former WNBL star Mikaela Dombkins, who dominated with a 24-point, 12-rebound double-double. The Crusaders' ball movement was exceptional, dishing out 23 assists while committing just 13 turnovers for an impressive 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio. Veteran Leilani Mitchell orchestrated the offense with nine assists and added 17 points of her own, while Jasmine Forcadilla contributed 20 points, including three triples. The Crusaders' bench provided a massive spark with 55 points.
The Spiders stayed competitive behind American import Ay'Anna Bey's 25 points and 11 rebounds. Haruna Inamura added 15 points, six assists, and seven boards, while Keira Hudson chipped in 13 points. However, Hornsby struggled with efficiency, shooting just 38.9 percent from the field and hitting only 58.3 percent from the charity stripe compared to Central Coast's 81 percent free throw shooting.
